A review of Bar Rua in Manhattan’s Murray Hill

Located at 497 Third Avenue, Bar Rua is an Irish pub/ sports bar located along a stretch of Third Ave with numerous other sports bars. This spot used to be Patrick Kavanaugh’s (and, briefly, pig n whistle in between). With fewer tables and more standing room, Bar Rua feels more spacious than its previous incarnations. There’s a small room on the back for private events. Food offerings are fairly standard for a sports bar (bar apps, burgers, sandwiches and other entrees). The $10 lunch special is fairly generous and includes the choice of an app and an entree. This is a great stop for your next Murray hill NYC bar crawl.
